Day Spa FAQ

What time should I arrive?

Day Spa Packages run from 9am – 5pm with the exception of “Tea for 2” (2pm – 7pm) and “Just Relax” (11.30am – 5.00pm).

What happens when I arrive?

When you arrive you will be greeted by one of our Receptionists.  You will be asked to make your choices from the Lunch or Dinner menu and to complete your consultation form, if you have not done so before arrival, after which you will be given a tour of the facilities.

What happens if I arrive late?

If you arrive late for your treatments, whilst we will make every attempt to re-schedule your day, we cannot guarantee this.

What if I have to cancel or change the date of my Day Spa?

If you give us less than 48 hours notice there is nothing we can do, however if you give us more than 48 hours notice we are normally able to re-schedule.  A £10 re-scheduling fee will be applied.

What should I wear?

Come as casual or a smart as you like – be comfortable. We suggest that you bring as little as possible with you as you may share a locker with another member of your party.

What should I bring?

Your Booking Confirmation, completed Consultation Form, any Vouchers* used as payment for your Day Spa, swimming costume(s), money / credit card to pay for drinks and any extra treatments you have booked.
*Without an original voucher you will be asked for another form of payment. Your voucher gains you admission to Riverhills (formerly Clarice House Ipswich).

If your package includes robes / towels / slippers for the day

Robes and towels are for use during the day and must be returned. Slippers are for you to keep.  You can purchase a robe at £20 per robe. Additional towels may be charged.

NB Our robes are one size, however, we do have larger ones available (up to size 20).  Please call and request one if you feel that would be more comfortable, or feel free to bring your own.

Can I wear my robe throughout the day?

Yes, even to lunch.

Do I have to carry my bag, etc. around with me?

No, you will be given a locker with a key, which you return before departure along with your towel and robe, unless you have bought it.

What is an express manicure / pedicure?

This is a 25 minute treatment which will include filing, cuticle work and nail painting.

Can I change my treatments for something else?

The Day Spa packages have been put together to encompass a wide range of treatments.  These treatments cannot be changed.  However, you are welcome to upgrade or book extra treatments to enhance your chosen package.

How long are the treatments?

All treatments are 25 minutes, unless otherwise stated.

What is there to do?

There are a number of indoor areas for reading and chilling out, as well as a beautiful outside terrace to relax or enjoy a coffee.

Aquacise - use of the pool

Please note Aquacise classes, which are available to members only, run a maximum of 5 times per week, for 45 minutes each class during Day Spa hours. The main pool is not available during an aquacise class. However, all other pool house facilities, which include the spa bath, steam room and sauna, are available or just chill out in our lounge areas.

Can I use the gym?

Unfortunately you cannot use the gym or attend classes; these facilities are for members only.

What about my mobile phone?

As all our guests are here to relax, use of mobile phones is prohibited.

Are staff gratuities included?

These are left to the discretion of the individual.

My voucher is for Clarice House Ipswich, can I use it at Riverhills?

Yes! As long as it is still in date. Riverhills is still the same independent health club and spa, just with a new name.

Clarice Leisure is still showing on my bank statement, is that correct?

Yes. The legal entity is still known as Clarice Leisure and will continue to show on bank statements and direct debit payments. The trading name is now Riverhills (this was formerly Clarice House Ipswich).
