Our latest update

We know you can’t wait to get back to the Club and in particular our Group Exercise Classes.

We have received lots of questions about how these will work with the tier 2 restrictions in place when we reopen on 3rd December.

We are pleased to confirm that our Group Exercise Classes can continue in exactly the same way as before the second lockdown.

Each studio has the floor marked, with individual exercise spaces, to ensure we are operating in a Covid secure way.

In addition, where possible, classes will also be available via Zoom, as previously.

We look forward to seeing you.

Our previous updates

Following the government’s latest announcement, we are really pleased that our Health Club and Spa will reopen on Thursday 3rd December 2020, at 6.30am.

In the meantime, if you have any questions for us, please email on enquiries@riverhills.co.uk.

We will, of course, continue to operate in the COVID-secure way we were, and we can’t wait to see you again!

Once again, thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Keep well and stay safe.
With best wishes the Riverhills team.

Following the Government’s latest announcement, our Health Club and Spa will be closed from 10pm on Wednesday 4th November 2020 and we hope to reopen on Thursday 3rd December 2020.

This means that if you pay monthly by Direct Debit, your payment will not be called.

If you have paid an annual subscription, your term will be extended by the time lost.

While we are closed, we will be running group exercise classes via “Zoom” and these will commence on Thursday 5th November 2020. See https://www.riverhills.co.uk/health-club/fitness-classes for details.

Day Spa, Beauty and Hair

If you have bookings, we will be in touch to reschedule these for you and any vouchers will be extended by the same period we are closed for.

When we were forced to close earlier this year and subsequently reopen in a Covid-secure way, your support was overwhelming, and we are all very appreciative of that.

Please keep watching our social media and website for updates.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support; we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Keep well and stay safe.

With best wishes the Riverhills team.

Update on 30th July 2020

It’s almost time for us to reopen our doors on 3rd August and we can’t wait to see you again!

We are closely following government guidelines and are also working with the industry body UKActive to provide a safe environment. As you will appreciate, the guidelines keep being updated, so here are revised details of how we will operate in a Covid-secure way.

  • Please do not come to the Club if you feel unwell and let us know if you or anyone in your household develops Covid-19 symptoms.
  • Hand sanitiser is provided on entry and all members and guests are temperature screened.
  • Please keep social distancing in mind at all times and leave plenty of space between yourself and other members and guests. Please be patient, polite and observe all notices.

Gym

  • All members using the gym are requested to clean all machines and equipment used during their visit. Viricidal spray and disposable paper is provided to use.
  • No sweat towels are permitted.
  • WHO (World Health Organisation) guidance states that face coverings should NOT be worn during physical activity.
  • A one-way system operates in the gym. Entry is via the normal entrance. Exit is at the top of the gym.
  • Please bring your own mat and water bottle, and remember, water fountains should only be used to fill bottles.

Classes

  • Most classes will take place outside on the tennis court for now.
  • Most classes in this area will not use any equipment.
  • Please bring your own mat and water bottle, and remember, water fountains should only be used to fill bottles.
  • Classes will be booked online in the normal way.

Swimming Pool, Spa Bath, Sauna and Steam Rooms:

  • We know pool water kills coronavirus, but social distancing must be maintained.
  • A maximum of 12 bathers / swimmers are permitted in the pool at any time. Please note this is a maximum figure and in practice we expect numbers to be lower than this. The Club team will ensure this is monitored and controlled.
  • Children’s swimming has been stopped for now, to allow maximum capacity for members and spa guests.
  • Bathers and swimmers are expected to be respectful and courteous at all times and to ensure social distancing is maintained.
  • A clockwise one-way system is in place for movement around poolside.
  • The spa bath is in use, but users must ensure social distancing.
  • The sauna and steam rooms are not in use until further notice.

Your help, patience and cooperation is very much appreciated to help keep Riverhills a safe and enjoyable place to exercise and relax.

Remember, fight the virus by boosting your immune system, by staying healthy and active.

We’re working hard to get our Health Club ready to reopen and can’t wait to welcome our members and guests back on 3rd August.

We are closely following government guidelines and are also working with the industry body UKActive to provide a safe environment.

The safety of our members, our guests and our team members is our number one priority. Some things will look a little different and we will, of course, be incorporating extensive cleaning protocols and social distancing practices throughout the Club to keep you safe and at ease.

How we’re keeping you safe

  • Please do not come to the Club if you feel unwell and let us know if you or anyone in your household develops Covid-19 symptoms.
  • Hand sanitiser is provided on entry and all members and guests are temperature screened.
  • Please keep social distancing in mind at all times and leave plenty of space between yourself and other members and guests. Please be patient, polite and observe all notices.
  • Help keep yourself and others safe by wiping down equipment before and after use and washing your hands frequently.
  • We have enhanced cleaning regimes, using a viricidal disinfectant cleaning solution, proven effective against Covid-19, including regular “fogging” of the gym and other areas.
  • Our changing rooms are open, however, where possible, for now, please arrive “gym / swim-ready” and if you can avoid using this area, it will be a great help.
  • Where possible, group exercise classes will take place outdoors and some indoor classes will have reduced occupancy.
  • Numbers will be slightly limited in certain areas. Please help by being aware of the length of time you use equipment, so everybody can continue to exercise.
  • A maximum of 12 bathers will be permitted in the swimming pool at any time.
  • Unfortunately, the sauna and steam rooms will not be in use, for now.
  • We will be offering a slightly reduced menu and eating on poolside will not be allowed for now. However, you will still be able to order and eat in our restaurant, bar or outside on the terrace or in the gardens.
  • Please bring your own towel, yoga mat and water bottle, and remember, water fountains should only be used to fill bottles.

Your help, patience and cooperation is very much appreciated to help keep Riverhills a safe and enjoyable place to exercise and relax.

Remember, fight the virus by boosting your immune system, by staying healthy and active.
